# HubSpot Service Hub review

**Grade B (79/100) · #5 of 12 help desks**

Help desk built into HubSpot's CRM, with Customer Agent AI billed per resolution in credits.

## Verdict
Service Hub is the natural pick for teams already on HubSpot that want a capable AI agent with a clear $0.50-per-resolution price. The catch is entry cost: Professional seats are $90 on an annual commitment, plus a required $1,500 onboarding fee.

**Good fit:** Companies already running sales or marketing on HubSpot; Teams that want an AI agent with a published per-resolution price; Support teams that need calling and WhatsApp in the same tool

**Look elsewhere:** Small teams that cannot absorb onboarding fees and annual commitments; Buyers whose auditors require ISO 27001; Teams that want month-to-month billing on a plan with the AI agent

## Pros
- Customer Agent has a published price of $0.50 per resolution, with 60 resolutions a month covered on Professional [2][3]
- The AI agent works on chat, email, WhatsApp, Messenger and voice, and can call external APIs [3][7]
- Native calling and WhatsApp sit alongside tickets, SLAs and skills-based routing [1][2]
- Batch testing before launch and resolution-rate reporting for the AI agent [6][5]
- Support shares one CRM with sales and marketing, with 2,000+ integrations [8]

## Cons
- Professional and Enterprise need an annual commitment and a one-time onboarding fee of $1,500 or $3,500 [1]
- Seats are costly: $90 on Professional and $150 on Enterprise [1]
- No ISO 27001 certificate of HubSpot's own on its trust center [9][10]
- HubSpot may train its own AI models on customer data unless a Super Admin opts out [13]
- Included credits are shared across all AI features and do not roll over [2]

## What HubSpot Service Hub is
HubSpot Service Hub is the help desk inside HubSpot's CRM platform. Tickets, live chat, email, calling, WhatsApp, a knowledge base and a customer portal sit on the same records that sales and marketing use [2][8].

It suits teams already on HubSpot. The catch is the jump to Professional: that is where the help desk workspace, the knowledge base and Customer Agent start, at $90 per seat a month on an annual commitment plus a required $1,500 onboarding fee [1].

## AI
Customer Agent is HubSpot's AI agent. It answers on live chat, email, forms, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, and handles inbound calls, with voice still in beta [3][2]. Admins can add actions that call external APIs, such as an order status check, test the agent in batches before launch, and track its resolution rate and handoffs [7][6][5]. It needs a Professional or Enterprise subscription [4].

It is billed in HubSpot Credits: 50 credits per resolved text conversation and 50 per voice minute, at $0.010 a credit, so $0.50 per resolution [2][3]. A conversation counts as resolved when it is not handed to a human within 72 hours [3]. Professional includes 3,000 credits a month, enough for 60 resolutions, shared with every other credit-using feature [2]. Breeze Assistant and reply recommendations help reps draft replies and carry no credit charge on the rate sheet [2].

## Pricing
A 10-agent team on Professional pays $900 a month in seats plus $220 for Customer Agent, once 500 AI resolutions run past the 60 covered by included credits: $1,120 a month [1][2]. Add the one-time $1,500 onboarding fee in year one. Paying monthly on Professional costs $100 a seat and still needs an annual commitment [1]. Enterprise is $150 a seat, billed annually, with a $3,500 onboarding fee [1][2]. Starter is $7 a seat on annual billing or $20 month to month, but it has no Customer Agent [1][4]. Extra credits cost $10 per 1,000-credit pack or $0.010 each pay-as-you-go [2].

- **Free:** $0 billed annually; $0 billed monthly (Up to 2 users; live chat with HubSpot branding, 3 snippets, 3 email templates)
- **Starter:** $7 per seat a month billed annually; $20 per seat a month billed monthly (500 HubSpot Credits a month, live chat without branding, ticket pipelines, 1 HubSpot phone number, 500 calling minutes)
- **Professional:** $90 per seat a month billed annually; $100 per seat a month on an annual commitment billed monthly (3,000 credits a month, Customer Agent, help desk workspace, 1 knowledge base with 2,000 articles, WhatsApp up to 1,000 messages a month, SLAs, 300 workflows, 3,000 calling minutes; $1,500 onboarding)
- **Enterprise:** $150 per seat a month billed annually; Billed annually only billed monthly (5,000 credits a month, 100 knowledge bases with 10,000 articles, 5 phone numbers, 12,000 calling minutes, 1,000 workflows, conditional SLAs; $3,500 onboarding)
- **Customer Agent:** $0.50 per resolved conversation (50 credits at $0.010); voice $0.50 per minute (beta)
- **Breeze Assistant:** Included; listed among HubSpot's free tools with no credit rate
- **Reply recommendations:** Included in Professional and Enterprise
- **HubSpot Credits:** $0.010 per credit pay-as-you-go, or $10 per 1,000-credit capacity pack

## Security and data
HubSpot publishes SOC 1 Type II, SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 reports and a HIPAA attestation, but its trust center lists no ISO 27001 certificate of its own [9][10]. Data is hosted on AWS in the US, or in Frankfurt for EU accounts [10]. The DPA is part of the Customer Terms of Service, and Enterprise customers can sign a BAA under the Sensitive Data Terms [11][14]. HubSpot may train its own AI models on customer data unless a Super Admin opts out; third-party AI providers such as OpenAI and Google may not train on it [13][12].

## What users say
G2 shows 4.4 out of 5 from 3,018 reviews, and Capterra shows 4.4 from 193 [15][16]. Reviewers like the tie-in with the CRM, responsive support and the ticketing workflow. Complaints focus on missing features, costs that climb as teams grow, the 12-month plan and a cluttered interface [15][16]. HubSpot names Synergym, ISSA and Sticos as Customer Agent users [3].
